Lumox is just powering up: planned as a 2D pixel-art platformer where light is the key element: lifeline, weapon, key and puzzle. Still in the very early stages of development, this project is full of potential: navigate darkness, manage limited energy, fight enemies, solve puzzles, upgrade your robot and bring a forgotten machine world back to life. Stay tuned as Lumox takes shape, one glowing pixel at a time.
concept AI art - subject to change
Started to get built with Godot 4.4.1, Lumox will belnd handcrafted 2D pixel art with modern lighting and atmosphere: I aim for animated sprites enriched with normal maps, dynamic shaders, a new layered 2D-in-3D parallax environment, state machines and much more. It's a solo project, every line of code and pixel comes from a single pair of hands - yet.
There’s no release date yet – just clear vision, a long road ahead, a lot of work to do. But Lumox is moving, slowly towards something special. Dev logs and behind-the-scenes updates will be shared on a dedicated YouTube channel (not yet), and once a first version is playable, community feedback will play a key role in shaping what comes next.
The game is initially planned for PC, with a future Steam release in mind – and potentially more platforms depending on how things evolve. Music and sound design will focus heavily on isolation, tension, and moments of quiet discovery, helping to bring the dark, forgotten world of Lumox to life. There were no references, no inspirations – just a sudden idea that struck one night and refused to let go. Now it’s time to follow that spark and see where it leads.
Unfortunately for now the developement is paused. A lot of things happened which took away the night-energy and motivation to compete with absolute master pieces like Hollow Night or Silksong...
